Recent Realizations and Changes to the Workout

New General Observation: “Anything I could do as a teenager outside the pool, I can now do as an out-of-shape 50-year-old in the pool!” This observation, along with improvements in my conditioning and realizations of all the variables that affect my workout, have resulted in me to implementing some significant changes to my pool-centric workout. An Amazing Lesson on the Importance of Nutrition

Last weekend I jumped in the pool for my daily workout only to discover that my legs had turned to lead, and that I was gasping for air at the end of each lap. Both Saturday and Sunday were (mercifully) cut short by the appearance of lightning from our summer afternoon storm clouds. However, I did have enough time to wonder with dismay, where all the fun and sense of accomplishment had gone.
